General

Overview

The General Settings section in Filmbase allows you to configure your account details and manage your user profile. These settings affect how you're identified within the application and control your membership status.

Accessing General Settings

To access General Settings:

1. Click on "Settings" in the left sidebar
2. Select the "General" tab from the top navigation (this is the default view when opening Settings)

Profile Information

Name

Your display name appears throughout the application and on any public profile elements:

1. Locate the "Name" field
2. Enter your preferred display name

Profile Image

Your profile image appears in the lower left corner of the application and on any public profile elements:

1. Locate the "Update Profile Image" section
2. Click "Choose File" to select a profile photo
3. Supported formats are PNG and JPEG with a maximum size of 4MB
4. After selecting a file, click "Save changes" at the bottom of the page

Email

Your email address is the primary identifier for your account:

1. Locate the "Email" field
2. This field currently cannot be edited directly as it's managed through your identity provider. In the future, you will be able to update your email address.

Membership Management

Membership Tier

Your membership tier determines which features you can access:

1. Locate the "Membership Tier" section
2. Your current tier is displayed (e.g., "PRO")
3. To change your membership, click the "Upgrade" or "Manage Membership" button

PRO Features

The PRO membership tier unlocks advanced features:

• Unlimited use of the EXIF Editor and bulk-upload of scans from an entire roll of film
• Access to the Field Recorder to record exposure settings and notes for each frame
• Exclusive access to the Filmbase community Discord

Saving Changes

After making changes to your General Settings:

1. Scroll to the bottom of the page
2. Click "Save changes" to apply your updates
3. Alternatively, click "Reset" to revert to the previously saved settings
