Dashboard
Your command center for Filmbase
Overview
The Dashboard is your command center for Filmbase, providing a comprehensive overview of your film photography activity and inventory status at a glance.
Key Statistics
At the top of the Dashboard, you'll find four key metrics:
- Available Rolls: The total number of unexposed film rolls in your inventory
- Consumed Rolls: The total number of film rolls you've used
- Total Purchased: The cumulative value of all your film purchases
- Next Expiration: The closest upcoming expiration date in your inventory
Each statistic includes a percentage change indicator showing week-over-week change. The expiration date also shows the number of days left until the next roll expires.
Top Film Stocks
This section displays your most frequently used film stocks with detailed usage metrics:
- Film name and format
- Number of rolls used
- Usage percentage
For example:
- Kodak Portra 400 (135): 29 rolls (33.3%)
- CineStill 400D (135): 12 rolls (13.8%)
- Kodak Portra 800 (135): 10 rolls (11.5%)
This data helps you understand your preferences and consumption patterns.
Shooting Frequency
The Shooting Frequency section provides insights into your shooting habits:
- Average Rolls per Month: The number of rolls you typically shoot monthly
- Busiest Month: Your most active shooting month
These metrics help you plan film purchases and understand your shooting patterns.
Expiration Management
The Expiration Management section helps you monitor film expiration timelines:
- 0-30 days: Rolls expiring within the next month
- 31-60 days: Rolls expiring in 1-2 months
- 61-90 days: Rolls expiring in 2-3 months
A "Used before expiration" percentage shows how efficiently you're using film before it expires.
Film in Cameras
This section shows which films are currently loaded in your cameras:
- Camera model
- Film stock and format
- ISO
For example:
- Leica M6: Kodak Tri-X 400 (135), ISO 400
- Contax T3: CineStill 400D (135), ISO 400
This feature helps you keep track of which film is in which camera, especially useful when shooting with multiple cameras.
